Who runs the site

The site is published by Friends of Carlos Moreno, the campaign committee of Carlos A. Moreno, Salt Lake County, Utah, and is paid for by the committee. Contact: [email protected]. It is not a Salt Lake County website; the county contact details on the help and contact pages are provided as a public service.

Content and images

Texts, photos and the campaign logo are the property of Friends of Carlos Moreno unless another source is credited. You may link to any page and quote short passages with attribution. Do not reuse the photos or the logo, or present the content as your own, without written permission. The District 2 map is drawn from Salt Lake County open GIS data. Social network names and marks belong to their owners. Site design and development by RootBiz.

Contributions

Contributions are made through Donorbox and are subject to its terms. By contributing you confirm that the funds are your own and that the contribution is within the law: Salt Lake County Code 2.72A.104 limits contributions to $6,000 per contributor to a county candidate over the three election cycles of a term, allows at most $100 in cash per year, and prohibits anonymous contributions and contributions made in another person's name. Utah and county law require the committee to report contributions, with the contributor's name and address, to the Salt Lake County Clerk. Contributions are not tax-deductible.

Refund policy

Contributions are generally not refundable. The committee returns any contribution it cannot lawfully accept. Written refund requests sent to [email protected] within 30 days of the contribution are reviewed case by case; approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, normally within 10 business days.

Forms, updates and text messages

Sending the volunteer form or signing up for updates means you agree to be contacted by the campaign for those purposes. Volunteering does not create an employment relationship. If you share a phone number, the campaign may call or text you about volunteering; message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time. Every update email includes an unsubscribe link.

West Side poll

The poll is informal and not a scientific survey. It allows one answer per person per day and its totals are public.

Links to other sites

Links to county pages, news outlets, social networks or Donorbox are provided for convenience. Those sites are not under our control, and a link is not an endorsement.

Accessibility

We build the site to the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines: it can be used with a keyboard and with screen readers, and its text meets contrast requirements. If any part of the site is hard for you to use, write to us and we will fix it or give you the information another way.

No warranty

The site is offered as is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors or interruptions, and to the extent the law allows, Friends of Carlos Moreno is not liable for damages arising from its use.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Any dispute will be heard by the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah. If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new date.
